A journey may take hundreds of miles, or it may cover the distance between duty and desire. Sixteen of today’s hottest writers of paranormal tales weave stories on a common theme of journeying. Authors such as Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Caine, and Melissa Marr return to the beloved worlds of their bestselling series, while others, like Claudia Gray, Kami Garcia, and Margaret Stohl, create new land-scapes and characters. But whether they’re writing about vampires, faeries, angels, or other magical beings, each author explores the strength and resilience of the human heart.

Amidst sweet romances and chilling scares, my first experience reading an anthology was wonderful. With some of the most well-known and popular young adult authors contributing to Enthralled, readers of all types will find something they like in this exciting collection of short stories.

I don't usually read short stories because they either lack depth or aren't long enough to satisfy my thirst. When I come across a good story, I want to grab onto the characters and never let the story end! Thankfully, the stories in Enthralled are completely satisfying. I fell in love multiple times but was pleased with how each ended. There aren't any horrible cliffhangers, only threads left for readers to continue the story in their minds or for authors to continue writing with in the future.

Some of my favourites were Red Run by Kami Garcia (a love story about a girl set on revenge and a misunderstood highway ghost), Let's Get This Undead Show On The Road by Sarah Rees Brennan (a hilarious story about a boy band with a vampire guitarist) and Gargouille (a sad but touching and hopeful love story) by Mary E. Pearson. I enjoyed many of the stories but these three stood out for different reasons. This anthology is excellent for introducing people to authors they've never read from before. I was only familiar with a small handful prior to reading this but now knowing all of their writing styles, I can be confident in reading their original series!

With a new story thrown at you so constantly, your interest will be piqued until the very end. What will you be reading about next? Without individual blurbs, each story comes as a surprise and is like Christmas sixteen times over! Whether you're hit with great story after great story, or finding yourself combing the anthology for "the one", you'll experience a variety of flavours that'll tickle your taste buds. Definitely something to pick up if you are a fan of the paranormal!

Who's your favourite author in this anthology? Any new ones you're excited to read from? ;)
