New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.  Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she seem to get him out of her mind? Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

Lizzie's boyfriend, Jeremy, is being pushy, distant and constantly expecting more from her than she can give. When Drew Carmichael transfers to her school, she finds his familiarity and kind soul comforting. Little does she know, he'll avoid and push her away from him to prevent history from repeating itself. Will she discover who she really is? Can she and Drew have a relationship without breaking her best friend's heart? Will Jeremy find out? Read and find out! Michelle Madow's writing is simple but elegant and natural, conveying the perfect amount of feeling and emotion.

From the beginning, it's obvious what will happen. The plot is predictable but Remembrance was still a joy to read. Readers are kept guessing with when Lizzie will find out about her past and finally claim Drew as her soulmate. Ups and downs are plentiful, as are unlikeable boyfriends and oblivious best friends. Little by little, fragments of Liz's memories come back to her, thanks to the presence of Drew. She draws herself, dreams and gets flashbacks about the people she and Drew once were. I found their relationship sweet and moving, though there were many moments in between to make me wish Drew would stop shutting himself down. Just give in already! He remembers the past clearly and tries to do everything he can to keep Lizzie safe, but....she doesn't make it easy for him. What a gentleman!

I wish this novel would have explained more about Liz and Drew's reincarnation, but I'm sure that will be a main topic of discussion in the sequel. Remembrance largely revolves around Liz as the relationships around her change, shatter and grow. We see how small decisions can have large impacts and how misunderstandings can ruin everything. I can't wait to further expand on this plot and see where these brilliant charactes take us!
Team Drew all the way! Looking at my Teaser Tuesday last week, it's obvious I was rooting for him even before I cracked this book open! You can chat with Drew on Twitter...send him a tweet and he'll reply back! Is this going on your TBR? ;)
