Fury surprised me. The plot is absolutely excellent and Elizabeth Miles has managed to create an eerie, yet realistic world where no bad deed goes unpunished… The two main characters, Emily and Chase, initially have separate stories, each facing their own dilemma against a trio of vengeful furies. Chapters are told in alternating points of view and constantly leave us wanting more. The novel evokes strong emotions - fear, excitement, lust, hope? - from readers and is sure to please.
The storylines of Fury are all very intertwined with another, whether you realise it or not. It's so intricate that I can't explain but trust me when I say it will drive you insane. Whether characters are doing frisky things with people who are off-limits, running for their lives or trying to keep a grasp on reality, you'll fly through this book until you reach the end. I enjoyed the conclusion as it is the beginning of a great sequel! Slightly cheeky, slightly dark, a sign of good things to come.
While these elements of the novel are very well done, I can't say that I particularly like any of the characters. Yes, I want them to survive, but would I be deeply upset if they didn't? Probably not... Some shocking things happen in this book (bravo to Miles) and your faithfulness to these characters will really be tested and put on the line! The only character that I truly liked was JD, Emily's nerdy and fashionable friend. He's amazing ;)
I recommend this book to everyone. The plot is very engaging and will have you begging for more. Bring on book two!
