Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift. And a curse. When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case - but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother - who has supernatural gifts of his own - becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

Clarity is so fast-paced and exciting that you will most likely devour it in one sitting like I did. Kim Harrington has written a brilliant novel with a perfect blend of humour, action, murder mystery, paranormal and romance. I honestly don't know what more you could ask for. Clarity Fern has always been different, blessed with a supernatural talent like the rest of her family. From just one touch of an object, she can see things from the eyes of the people who have touched it previously. While it pays the bills and entertains tourists, her sight has ruined relationships and shown Clare things that she never wanted to see.

This novel takes place in a span of just over a week. There is a heart-racing and mysterious prologue which sets of the storyline of the novel before we are brought back to the very beginning. This scene captured my attention immediately and kept my mind spinning until the very end, when we come full circle. Clare is rendered defenseless as a mystery man she cares about is on the floor, shot, as another mysterious man hovers above her, prepared to strike with his gun. The author takes us on a winding and twisting journey, seamlessly switching and moulding our beliefs about who the antagonist is. People are being murdered, and Clare is the only one who can solve the case.

I loved the narration because Clarity was a great character and easily relatable. She's sarcastic, boy-loving, not afraid to tell wives of their cheating husbands and willing to rough up the bullies. She's a strong character who tells the story clearly and plays on our sympathies. Her ex-boyfriend, Justin, drunkenly cheated on her with the Queen Bee, Tiffany. Then there's the sexy new guy, Gabriel. Sometimes he's sweet, sometimes he's arrogant because he's disbelieving of her gift. You never know with him, which is what makes it exciting. Throughout the novel you are never sure of who she will end up with as the author artfully constructs both love interests in a good light, showing us their desirable qualities. Every single other secondary character is interesting too but...I won't go into that!

This is an absolute must-read. Stay for the murder-mystery or the steamy romance. Take your pick! It's a thrilling ride that I didn't want to get off. I'm now sitting here, waiting for book two to come out. While the mystery of this novel is solved, there are still some questions left unanswered, ready to be explored in the future. Can you say that I'm EXCITED? Yes! Clarity is entirely convincing with its supernatural element and I cannot wait for you all to experience the brilliance that is this book.
